Sellar Property Group plans to build a 27-story residential tower on the south bank of the River Thames in London, Bloomberg reports.

The building will be near the developer's Shard tower, the tallest skyscraper in western Europe. A 1970s office building on London Bridge Street, known as Fielden House, will be converted into approximately 150 apartments.

Sellar will develop the project in a partnership with the state of Qatar, similar to development for the Shard.

The new apartment building will be designed by Shard architect Renzo Piano, according to Bloomberg. It will include a total of 160,000 square feet of residential space and will also feature retail space.

Sellar and Qatar have also redeveloped the Place office building, near the Shard. Last July, News Corp. agreed to move its entire London operations into the Place, dubbed the "Baby Shard."
