Actor Matthew Perry has recently purchased a newly built custom house in the Sunset Strip area for $8.65 million. That might explain why he put his West Hollywood condo up for sale recently for $2,995,000.

At his new home, walls of glass in the main living area and master bedroom open to an outdoor dining room, alfresco living room, a synthetic lawn and swimming pool. Steps lead from the infinity pool down to a theater, which has velvet seating for nine, a $12,000 projector and 2-inch-thick underwater pool windows.

The 4,000-square-foot home also has a sleek kitchen centered on a lime green island, plus three bedrooms and four bathrooms. A clean-burning fireplace runs on ethanol, wall panels provide hidden storage, and views run from downtown to the ocean.

Perry's recently listed Sierra Towers condo, which he bought from Elton John in 2005 for $3.2 million, is on the 22nd floor. The modern unit sits on the southeastern corner of the high-rise with walls of glass and a balcony offering skyline views. It has two bedrooms and 2 ½ bathrooms in 1,672 square feet.

Sierra Towers has become a celebrity outpost over the years, attracting the likes of Cher, Joan Collins and Lindsay Lohan, according to Times reports.

Perry, 41, starred in the decade-long sitcom "Friends" starting in 1994. Since his days as Chandler Bing, he starred in "17, Again" (2009) and the comedy series "Mr. Sunshine" (2011).

Midas Touch in Holmby Hills

Jon Feltheimer, chief executive of the film and television studio Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., has sold a Holmby Hills estate for $14.4 million, less than two years after he bought it for $9,812,500.

The 1.3-acre flat property overlooks a fairway at the private Los Angeles Country Club. The 6,400-square-foot house, built in 1927, has five bedrooms and 5 ½ bathrooms.

When Feltheimer, 59, bought the property in late 2009, it had been owned by the same family for six decades.

Encino Home Retains TV Vibe

Emmy-winning TV producer Jonathan Littman has bought the "Entourage" house in Encino for $4.2 million.

The setting of the HBO show's Season 7 last year, the gated Tuscan-style villa has 9,010 square feet of living space with a media room, study, seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Features include 22-foot-high beamed ceilings and seven fireplaces. The master suite has an exercise room and French doors leading to a private patio with a spa.

The lot, more than three-quarters of an acre, includes a mosaic-tiled pool, spa and waterfall. An additional 1,975-square-foot outdoor living space has a kitchen, a barbecue, a bar and a fireplace.

Littman, an executive at Jerry Bruckheimer Television, has been a producer for shows including "Chase" (2010-11), "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (2000-present) and "The Amazing Race" (2001-present), for which he shares seven Emmys.

Lugosi Castle Gets a Bite

Update: A Hollywood Hills home once owned by actor Bela Lugosi, known for his role as Count Dracula on the stage and screen, has sold for $2.25 million.

Castle La Paloma, a Tudor built in 1926, features interior arches, vaulted beamed ceilings and bay windows. Its 5,000 square feet include an oversized living room, a breakfast room, a butler's pantry, five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a service wing. The more than a quarter-acre terraced site is in the Beachwood Canyon area.

Lugosi, who died in 1956 at 73, played other villains in addition to vampires. He starred in "White Zombie" (1932), "Bride of the Monster" (1955) and the posthumously released "Plan 9 From Outer Space" (1959).

The property came on the market in April at $2,367,000.

A News Flash From Brentwood

Former Los Angeles newscaster Paul Moyer has listed his Brentwood home for sale at $9,495,000.

The 1.4-acre estate, zoned for horses, includes a 7,200-square-foot main house, a two-story guesthouse and a swimming pool with spa. The master bedroom suite has a fireplace, dual baths, dual walk-in closets with a dressing area and a library with a fireplace. Three more bedrooms each have a bathroom for a total of four bedrooms and five bathrooms.

Moyer, 70, retired from KNBC-TV's Channel 4 news in 2009 after working in the L.A. market for 37 years. He co-anchored the 5 and 11 p.m. newscasts with Colleen Williams.

Way Nicer Than Mockingbird Lane

Update: A Studio City compound owned by actress Yvonne de Carlo from 1950 to 1975 has sold for $6.25 million.

An 8,000-square-foot main house built in 1999, a 1920s guesthouse, a swimming pool, a pool house and a barn occupy the gated 7.6-acre site, which is zoned for equestrian use. The Mediterranean-style main residence contains a 3,400-square-foot master bedroom suite, a great room with a 14-foot ceiling and a screening room. There are four bedrooms and six bathrooms.

De Carlo, who died in 2007 at age 84, was known to '60s television audiences as Lily Munster in "The Munsters" (1964-66). Her six-decade acting career included roles in "The Ten Commandments" (1956) and "McLintock!" (1963).

The property came on the market at the end of January at $6,695,000.
