The Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, whose given name is Michael Balzary, has sold his newly built Malibu house for $3.15 million. The two-story contemporary had come on the market in June at $4,795,000.
Designed by Marmol Radziner, the indoor-outdoor home sits on 1.36 acres with a free-form pool and an outdoor fireplace. There are three bedrooms, three bathrooms and an office in more than 3,000 square feet.
Flea bought the previous house on the site in 2002 for $2.55 million, but it burned in the 2007 Malibu fires, according to The Times archives.

Flea, 49, is a founding member of the Grammy-winning band, whose 10th album, "I'm With You," was released this summer.

The NBA's Corey Maggette, who recently sold his Westchester house for $1.85 million, has bought an estate in Newport Coast for $3 million, public records show.
The former L.A. Clipper can now count Laker Kobe Bryant among his neighbors.

The contemporary unit with close to 1,900 square feet of living space has city and ocean views, two balconies, two bedrooms and three bathrooms. The building, constructed in 1982, has a pool, a gym and valet parking.
Hamilton, 72, starred in the vampire comedy "Love at First Bite" (1979) and "Zorro, the Gay Blade" (1981), among other films in his nearly six-decade acting career.
Public records show the actor bought the condo in 2008 for $1.1 million.

A Sherman Oaks home built in 1936 for actress Joyce Compton is on the market at $1.795 million.
Evoking an English farmhouse with a half-timbered exterior, it features beamed ceilings, a stone fireplace in the living room and oak floors. The updated 3,306-square-foot house includes a den, a family room, three bedrooms and 3½ bathrooms. There is a separate one-bedroom guesthouse and a swimming pool.
Compton, who died in 1997 at 90, was in more than 200 films with such stars as Cary Grant, Jack Benny and Clara Bow. She appeared in "Christmas in Connecticut" (1945), "Rose of Washington Square" (1939) and "If I Had a Million" (1932).
Public records show the property last changed hands in 1992 for $775,000.

Musician Shannon Leto of 30 Seconds to Mars has purchased a bank-owned house in the Sunset Strip area for $900,000.
The gated contemporary Mediterranean features a family room, an office, two fireplaces, a master suite with a sitting area, two other bedrooms and three bathrooms in about 2,600 square feet. Stairs off the back of the house lead to a wrought-iron enclosed swimming pool.
Leto, 41, is the drummer for the rock band, whose latest album is "This Is War" (2009). The group is on track to earn a spot in December in Guinness World Records for the most shows performed in a single album cycle.
Laurel Canyon Twitter Topic
Actor Todd Stashwick has sold his Laurel Canyon house for $816,000, public records show.
The original property, built in 1922, was much smaller than the 2,682-square-foot home today. Earlier owners redesigned and expanded the property to its three-bedroom, 3 ½-bathroom configuration.
The house includes a double-height dining room, a family room with wood-burning fireplace and a master suite with a fireplace and balcony. The grounds have a motorized rock-bed stream, a children's playhouse and a 200-year-old oak tree.
Stashwick, 43, appeared on Twitter-feed inspired "(Stuff) My Dad Says" last year and, more recently, "Men of a Certain Age." He also was a regular on "Heroes" (2009-10) and "The Riches" (2007-08).
