Richard Gere's 'Strongheart' Selling for $65 Million

Hollywood actor Richard Gere is selling his Hamptons estate for the high price of $65 million, earning him a pretty profit if sold. 

The "Pretty Woman" and "Officer and a Gentleman" actor paid $6.9 million for most of the New York property in 2005, paying $1.68 million for the rest in 2007, according to Trulia. 

Known as Strongheart Manor, Mr. Gere's 12,000-square-foot home has 12 bedrooms and 12 baths set on more than six acres of land with 300 feet of waterfront. 

Built in 1902, the property has been renovated and expanded to include two additional guest houses, an outdoor fireplace pavilion and a tea house in the middle of a pond, according to Curbed.

The high price tag provides a buyer with panoramic water views, rolling lawns, waterfront pond and dock permits, making it a "unique property that can never be replicated," according to the listing.
