Every once in awhile, Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton puts on one of her other favorite hats by finishing a major house restoration.
This time it's not only one of her favorite things to do, it's also one of her favorite styles of house: a Spanish Colonial Revival. The asking price is just under $12 million.
Over the years, Keaton has refurbished many homes, from one previously owned by screen star Ramon Novarro to one Keaton fixed up and then sold to Madonna. That house and the one Keaton just completed are both in Beverly Hills.
The most recently refurbished one was designed in 1927 by architect Ralph Flewelling. Characteristically of its style, the house has an inner courtyard with a fountain, and there are arches in the living and dining rooms. There is a separate guest suite and a master suite with two bathrooms.
The two-story house also has a media room and a den. Outside pathways lined with olive trees lead to a pool.
Keaton, 63, has had a busy movie career, starting with Woody Allen's "Play It Again, Sam" (1972) and "Annie Hall" (1977). More recently she appeared in "Father of the Bride" (1991) and "The First Wives Club (1996).
Aileen Comora and Paul Lester, both of Westside Estate Agency, Beverly Hills, share the listing, according to the Multiple Listing Service.
Dexter Scott King, one of the sons of slain civil rights leader the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., has sold an ocean-view home in Malibu for nearly $2 million. It had been on the market at about $2.6 million.
The home has four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in 4,700 square feet.
King lived in the home for several years, but it was used most recently as a rental. The property is on 2.7 acres and has views from nearly every room. The open floor plan also has high ceilings and bamboo floors.
King, 48, is chairman of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolence and Social Change in Atlanta, and he is the author of "Growing Up King; An Intimate Memoir."
Actress Anne Archer nominated for an Oscar as the victimized wife in the movie "Fatal Attraction" (1987) has listed her condominium in Rhode Island at $1.1 million.
The actress, 61, and her husband, executive producer Terry Jastrow bought the townhouse when it was newly built in 2003.
The unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,600 square feet. It also has a powder room, a wet bar and water views.
The townhouse is on Narragansett Bay in the Carnegie Abbey Sporting Estate (a private traditional Scottish-links-style golf course close to the mansion area of Newport.)
Melanie Delman of Lila Delman Real Estate has the listing.
Andrew Sasson, a Las Vegas developer, has built a contemporary mansion in Oahu that he has listed at $21 million.
The house is on Kailua Beach in Oahu, where President Barack Obama rented a vacation home last year.
There are eight bedrooms in the two-story, 8,000-square-foot estate for sale, and it is on a 25,000-square-foot lot with 82 linear feet of beachfront.
The house has two wings with a pool in the middle. There is a two-story high living room and a tree-lined patio by the pool.
Sasson co-owns Light Group, whose restaurant and club properties include the Jet, where rap star Flavor Flav celebrated his 50th birthday last month.
Mary Worrall and Elizabeth Worrall Daily of Mary Worrall Associates, Sotheby's International Realty, have the listing.
Tawny Kitaen, who co-starred with Tom Hanks in the 1984 movie "Bachelor Party," has listed her Newport Beach home at $3.45 million.
The house has five bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in about 4,300 square feet, and it is in a gated community in which the homes have high ceilings, crown moldings and French doors.
The houses there also have breakfast areas, granite counters and top-of-the-line appliances. Most of the homes were built in the '80s.
Kitaen, 47, also made a Whitesnake video and had a much publicized divorce from Major League Baseball pitcher Chuck Finley.
