(DUBAI, UAE) - The seventh-annual Cityscape Dubai opened yesterday, and the question is how much the international liquidity crisis will affect deals and contracts. A year ago, nearly 52,000 industry professionals from 136 countries viewed exhibits from 849 international companies and organizations.
This time more than 1000 exhibitors have signed up, according to the organizers, and they expect at least 60,000 participants from 150 countries during the four days of Cityscape. They say the region is booming despite the bad and rapidly changing news from overseas.
"You only have to look out of any window to see the astronomical property growth that is transforming cityscapes," said Shabnam Rawal, Group Director of Cityscape Conferences. "While much of the west appears to be heading for a slump, the property business in the Arabian Gulf, along with China and India, continues to grow."
Cityscape also hosts conferences on world architecture, hotel and tourism development and investment, and facilities and asset management as well as awards in a number of related categories.
