(ABU DHABI, UAE) -- Over the weekend, Aldar Properties PJSC announced it is building a water park at Yas Island that is due to open in 2012. On 16 hectares of land, the park will feature more than 40 rides including four that are billed as one of a kind, never before offered anywhere. Construction starts in July.
The water park will be preceded by Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the world's first Ferrari theme park, which opens on October 28. Already at Yas Island are Yas Marina Circuit where the Formula 1⢠Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix takes place in November, Yas Links, the first links golf course in the Gulf, and seven hotels including The Yas Hotel, the first hotel constructed over a Grand Prix racetrack.
