Country singer Dolly Parton's Dollywood theme park is adding a 300-room hotel, dubbed the Dollywood DreamMore Resort.
Located "just a stone's throw from Dollywood," the resort will cover 100 acres and will be managed by Gemstone Hotels and Resorts, according to a press release. The resort, scheduled to open in 2015, will include an indoor and outdoor pool, a spa, and "a full-service farmhouse-style restaurant."
Special guests will also be offered an opportunity to stay in "Dolly's Suite Dreams celebrity suite."
The 150-acre Dollywood theme park, located in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., has been celebrating rollercoasters and all things Dolly since 1986. The resort is the second capital investment in "a 10-year plan that includes more $300 million in future developments" for Ms. Parton's developments, according to the company statement.
In 2010 the company launched Dollywood Cabins, offering "luxurious, amenity-rich cabins just two miles from Dollywood and Dollywood's Splash Country."
Ms. Parton says the resort is the "realization of a dream" she's had for more than 30 years.
"My DreamMore Resort conjures up thoughts of a simpler place and time when Mama and Daddy and all us kids spent hours on end just swapping stories and catching up," Ms. Parton said in a statement. "I want to offer families more than a place to stay; I want to invite them on the porch and in my front door where they can slow down, kick back and enjoy all that this beautiful area has to offer."
The project's design will encourage "family bonding time" and "wholesome fun" centered around the neighboring Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the press release promises.
