Orlando, FL -- Stirling Sotheby's International Realty and the Home Builders Association of Metro Orlando are teaming up for a first-ever "2008 Builder Inventory Close-Out International Auction" that will feature 36 new homes built by some of Central Florida's finest builders.
Roger Soderstrom, founder and owner of Stirling Sotheby's International Realty, said the pioneering effort may be the first time in the U.S. that a local home builder association has organized an auction of builder owned inventory homes, and Stirling Sotheby's International Realty's reach makes the event a historical one.
The auction, scheduled for Saturday Feb. 21, will be promoted worldwide as well as throughout Florida.
"The Home Builders Association of Metro Orlando is taking a very positive, proactive approach to support its members," Soderstrom said. "Many area builders are looking to move their current standing inventory so they can start construction on new models early in the year," he said.
"The HBA is delighted to be partnering with one of our longtime members and one of the premier real estate brokerage firms in the state to provide our builder members with a new option during these unusual economic times," said HBA President Jim Cooper. "Stirling Sotheby's International Realty has a great track record and reputation and this new partnership should generate some great activity and excellent buying opportunities for serious home buyers and investors," Cooper said.
"With mortgage interest rates at nearly all-time lows, there has never been a better time to purchase brand new never-lived-in homes in very desirable neighborhoods," Soderstrom said.
"We anticipate that winning bids will range from the $200,000s to more than $2 million," Soderstrom said.
"Stirling Sotheby's International Realty will aggressively promote the auction worldwide as well as locally and nationally and will be working closely with all area Realtors," he said.
Attractive financing programs will be available for all purchasers, Soderstrom said.
