(ATLANTA, GA) -- Achasta By Reynolds, a master-planned lifestyle community in the North Georgia Mountains, will be opening the highly anticipated Ideal Living Home on September 11, 2010.
The 2010 Ideal Living Home was created for Ideal Living magazine and features the latest in energy-efficient technology. Built by Linger Longer Homes and designed by SUSTAINhouse of Atlanta, Ga., this 3-bedroom, 3-full and 2 half-bath home hosts a versatile floor-plan that includes all-organic and eco-friendly interiors. Building materials for the home were exclusively selected for their quality and adherence to sustainability. The layout provides plenty of space while maintaining an efficient design to save energy.
"We are very excited to partner with Achasta on the 2010 Ideal Living Home," said Dave Robertson, RPI Media Inc. president and Ideal Living magazine editor. "One of the things that attracted us to this project was that the homes in Fairway Village focus on two key trends - sustainability and maintenance-free living. This home will educate visitors and home buyers on how to build smarter, more eco-friendly homes."
The Ideal Living Home is located within Fairway Village. Homes in Fairway Village feature amazing views of the Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course at Achasta and maintenance-free exteriors that include lawn care. A 29-foot screened-in-porch on the home provides seating for a relaxing dinner overlooking the 10th and 18th fairways.
Achasta is donating the proceeds from this year's show home to the United Way of Lumpkin County. The community's previous show homes for Points North magazine and Southern Living raised over $53,500 for the United Way and other local foundations. Robin Fender, an Achasta resident, will once again serve as the House Manager for the Ideal Living Home. Fender served as House Manager for the 2009 Southern Living Idea House, one of the most successful showhomes in the history of the Idea House program.
The Ideal Living Home will be open to the public from September 11, 2010 to December 19, 2010. The house will be open for tours Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission to the home is $5 per car and all proceeds will benefit the United Way.
The Achasta community employs a full-time staff to enrich the active lifestyle of the community. Jake Moran, Outbound Director, plans and guides exciting outdoor trips for residents in and around Achasta. Tom Fowler is the community's head golf professional and oversees golfing operations at the course.
