(VIENNA, VA) -- Billy Casper Golf, which owns and operates more than 115 golf courses, country clubs and resorts throughout the U.S., has been retained by the City of Troy, Mich., to manage its Sanctuary Lake and Sylvan Glen golf courses.
The two properties mark Billy Casper's entry into Michigan, bringing the total courses managed in the Midwest to 41. The company also operates multi-course portfolios in Chicago; Cook County, Ill.; Tulsa; Cincinnati; Philadelphia; Westchester County, N.Y.; Knoxville, Tenn., and Wilmington, Del.
Billy Casper has been hired to oversee all aspects of Sanctuary Lake and Sylvan Glen's golf-course maintenance, staffing and training, merchandising, membership programs, marketing and public relations, golf instruction and special events.

Sanctuary Lake is an 18-hole, 6,505-yard, par-71 course set against the backdrop of the Troy skyline, taking golfers through a rolling, links-style layout. Tee-to-green bentgrass, 70 fairway and greenside bunkers, and tall fescue lining the fairways make for challenging and aesthetically noteworthy experiences.
Golfers regularly hone their games at the full-service practice area that contains 70 hitting stations with natural and artificial surfaces, eight target greens and two short-game areas, one with a greenside practice bunker. The Sanctuary Lake Golf Academy provides PGA-certified instruction.
A fully-stocked pro shop and Piper's Pub, the perfect 19th hole with event space for outings, weddings and other social engagements, make the clubhouse a popular gathering place.
Sylvan Glen is an 18-hole, 6,565-yard, par-70 course. Player-friendly since 1922, the design boasts wide, tree-lined fairways, a variety of greens complexes, understated bunkering and a winding creek intersecting 11 holes. Camp Ticonderoga restaurant features a varied menu that includes several wild-game selections.
